“You make decisions about young people in the absence of their voices and ideas. With youth involvement, the work is much more meaningful, much more relevant, and to be perfectly honest, a lot more fun. Their perspectives are very fresh and new, they challenge a lot of old assumptions, and you get a much stronger decision-making process if you’re working with the young people who are going to benefit from your program.”

POWERHOUSE YOUTH & FAMILY CENTER
EST. 2022
The Guzman family has been mentoring youth since 2015. Rick and Arlene began to foster 14–18-year-old children through probation and KCTFCO in 2018. This couple is highly qualified with delinquent youth and young adults. Arlene has case-managed dual-diagnosed individuals, as well as families with CPS referrals. Rick has been a barber since 2005, and a successful business owner and entrepreneur since 2008. This power couple has combined their God-given skills and abilities to help prepare, support, influence, and guide our generation of youth and young adults to succeed.
You can't change what happens, but you can change how you feel about it.
