Our Programs
HANDS ON PROGRAM
Community food give aways is designed to empower young people to be at the forefront of challenging the food environment in their local area. It supports young people to identify the food-related issues in their local community and to consider what changes they would like to see. As a group, young people are encouraged to create a social action project, aimed at tackling one issue, and are connected with various local stakeholders, such as political and business owners, who can support them to achieve their campaign goals.
MENTOR PROGRAM
PowerHouse Youth and Family Center understands the importance of building the 6 principles of Reliance: engagement, relationships, finding meaning, achievements, vitality, and positivity. Our Mentor program is designed to develop and address these developmental elements. The year program is designed to build resilience to help our youth and young adults to be successful in life.
PRE-MENTORSHIP
PowerHouse Youth and Family center has targeted behavior groups that are supervised by our very own Social Worker. Does your youth or young adult have some difficulties that will hinder them from accomplishing the mentor program? Let’s get them started with more supported small groups on substance abuse, self-harm, eating disorders, and/or anger management.
